How to turn off the fireworks?

These fireworks just slow the board down and annoyingly cause the scroll bars to flicker on and off!

Please either turn the off or allow users to set the to off!

There is nothing slow as i have tested on a Dial up as well as an ADSL line.
These are seasonal fireworks for the festival celebrated in India name as Diwali.
Fireworks will turn off automatically on 10th november later evening.
