Desktop Lync client status stuck as "Available" after BlackBerry Connect client logs

If a user is logged into a Microsoft Lync Desktop client, sets the status to Busy or Away, then logs into BlackBerry Connect client, the desktop client changes to Available and will not change. BlackBerry Connect client does change.
