Q. Why my ESN/IMEI has ??????????????4

A. first flash your unit again with original firmware, then try to check the ESN/IMEI again. we need to do this so we can be sure that your unit is not using a PATCHED firmware. then if the ESN/IMEI is still ????????????4. next step is to get the UEM IMEI. to do this you can use JAF READ UEM imei feature and double check it with the unit back sticker. if they are the same then you can use a valid DCT4RPL[1a]. this means that only the FLASH RPL part is corrupted and need to be rebuild.

Recommendation : use a valid DCT4RPL to FIX.

Q. How do i unlock a dct4/dct4plus unit?

A. if it's old dct4 units. any current nokia device such as UFS/MXKEY/JAF/UB/MT/etc can unlock it. but for the new DCT4plus unit there are some that can still be unlock and some you need to pay to be able to unlock[2a].

Recommendation : Get a device that keeps updating...

Q. What is UEM ASIC on DCT4/DCT4+?

A. from my experiance. to find what ASIC[3a] a unit used. you can see it when you try to flash or upgrade the firmware.
u_2nd (asic 2), u3_2nd (asic 11), wd_2nd (asic 5), t2_2nd (asic 6), te_2nd (asic 7). those xx_2nd.fia are the boot loader need to flash with flash loader (xx_intel.fia, xx_amd.fia ,etc).

Conclusion : as of now jan. 1 , 2008. there are 5 UEM ASIC. 2,5,6,7,11.

Q. What is ASK FILE? WHAT IS FLASH RPL?

A. as we all know ASK file contains, the ffg. IMEI_ESN and DATA. it's use to request for RPL[4a]. IMEI_ESN is too obvious it has the imei of the unit while DATA contains ASIC number plus the readed FLASH RPL ( if it's still valid, else it needs a new FLASH RPL. ) it's Re-enocded that why we cannot just see the FLASH RPL. we cannot write ASK file. to WRITE u will need a valid DCT4RPL file.
FLASH RPL, it has DATA1 this part is written to the FLASH IC w/c the firmware use to validate the imei and watchdog[4b] at UEM IC. if not the same. result would be auto-off (<32sec) or a bad imei ( ????????????4 ).
There is a site that will allow u to see the content of your ASK/RPL file..
Old Dct4 has pm208 it contains the FLASH RPL. but new dct4plus dont have it now on PM208. it's been protected from READING via PM. might still be possible to read via Loader way, thou...
