Nokia memory card issue

somedays back i posted my problem, that my Nokia 3110c 's card reader was not working..

i show it to a mechanic who did it allright, and took 150/- from me...
despite running for somedays the problem hit the phone back again so this time i changed my thoughts and took it to a different mechanic...

This mechanic told me of why the card reader was not working now.. he told me that the old mechanic applied jumpers to the chip and spoit the power inputs..

can someone tell me the correct way of knowing if this time the mechanic applies the right stuff into my phone.. he is asking me 380 /- and i think its too much, but he says that he will change the complete chipset..

how can i trust this new buddy after former experiences..??

will be my phone safe now?? i love my phone very much.. its the second phone i purchased in my life, my first multimedia set, is very helpful to me and i talk to my girl friend by chatting through it...:o

i didnt ask him to do poor mechanics on my phone, he nearly spoilt it...
