We are completely against IMEI changing for a phone, as it an offense. Yes you can try to get the phone unlocked. You can buy the unlock code for the phone you have. Or if you wish you can also use any tool that supports SE unlocking.

We still do not suggest anyone to go for IMEI change, its also hazardous as your phone would be completely dead in trying to change IMEI.
