How to do Work with MTK USB ?

1st of all take phone and connect it.

Make sure mobile is MTK.

Click on DETECT TAB

Now check which is your plug? For example I have plug like Motorola V3 with 5 pins up and 5 pin down

For my example as I told you about my plug so I have to select my plug type its P-10c

You can select from CABLE list your desire cable

After select correct connector type . Select Charge pin from Detect Type list

So now click on detect and check which pin is VCC if in log window you see VCC pin number then just cancel it and if you don’t see then find it from charge pin windows


How to find Charge pin ?

From Detect Tab. Make sure you selected your correct mobile connector type and you selected Charge pin from Detect Type list. Now click on Detect button then press and hold power button.

Now here you have two conditions

A- You will see Vcc:Null
B- You will see Vcc: 1 (or any pin)

IF you have Condition “A” then you must do this

After press and hold button you will see
Vcc: null
Gnd: 2 4 ( these can be any in my case my phone have 2 and 4 number pins GND)
Short pins not detected.
Detecting charge pin...

Then this new Windows will be popup now you have to see it care fully.
If will show current flow. If any pin take minor current or do not take any current this mean it’s not your charge pin.

Which Pin take Good Current that pin will be your Charge pin or you can say VCC pin

Keep in mind you have to press and hold power button until you not get your charge pin. As you can see in this picture needle is still at lower state so this is not your charge pin so simply click on NO and next pin will scan.

When you see your needle Rise like this…. This will your Charge pin Simply Click on YES.

After you select PIN number 10 as your charge pin as you can read top of this window for pin number detection. It will ask you would like to stop charge pin scan or continue . simply click on NO

From Log window it will show like this
Vcc: null
Gnd: 2 4
Short pins not detected.
Detecting charge pin...
Detecting 1 pin,Current: 0mA, Max: 0mA, Waiting-Time: 6s
Detecting 3 pin,Current: 0mA, Max: 0mA, Waiting-Time: 1s
Detecting 5 pin,Current: 0mA, Max: 0mA, Waiting-Time: 1s
Detecting 6 pin,Current: 13mA, Max: 17mA, Waiting-Time: 1s
Detecting 7 pin,Current: 0mA, Max: 0mA, Waiting-Time: 1s
Detecting 8 pin,Current: 13mA, Max: 17mA, Waiting-Time: 1s
Detecting 9 pin,Current: 0mA, Max: 0mA, Waiting-Time: 1s
Detecting 10 pin,Current: 107mA, Max: 202mA, Waiting-Time: 9s

IF you have Condition “B” you will see from log window

Vcc: 1
Gnd: 2 5
Short pins not detected.

Then no need to find Charge pin just PRESS cancel from charge pin detecting windows

Now Check from pinout selector is VCC is set to any pin ?
If vcc set to any pin then good other wise set vcc pin to your desire pin which we find from above

For my Example there is no any VCC set to any pin so I have to do manually how to do it ?

After all of this your pin out selector look like this

Till now we find Charge pin and GND now its ready for next setup

Now from Detect Type Click on Mstar Boot Find

Like this you can see. Click on Mstar (Do Find Boot) its very important cause if it find then you don’t need to find boot key from mobile key board


When you select Mstar ( DO FIND BOOT) click on DETECT and PRESS and HOLD POWER BUTTON

After some time it will show like this and set automatically BOOT pin. As it detect boot pin just release power button

After its detect boot pin now you have to click on SET PINOUT and press power button

When you press power button it will ask you for Drivers. MTK USB driver already in your Installer so just Brows C:\Program Files\FuriouS TeaM\VolcanoBox\Drivers\Phone Drivers\MTK_usb ( Default path)
And select folder if you use XP then give Drivers from XP if you are on win7 then give Drivers from win7 folder

After installing Drivers click on set pinout with doing any thing It will show like this

Now you are ready to do work

In this stage a little trick

After doing all this click on SET PINOUT and you have to press and hold power button till you not start any operation
For example if you want to FORMAT or READ FLASH or WRITE FLASH. After doing all above when you press SET PINOUT you have to press and hold power button then click on mtk tab and select operation like read flash or write flash or format and UNTICK AUTO DETECT PINOUT and click on RUN when its start downloading then you can release power button. This is must you have to do other wise you can’t do format or read flash or write flash .
