Recharge problems on my Blackberry Tour 9630

Hello All:

I bought an unlocked Verizon Blackberry Tour 9630 from the United States and I am encountering problems loading prepaid cards of a service operator (MTN). It keeps dialing the service request as a number.

We use GSM in our country and my line is a prepaid service and not contract lines. I am trying to load some funds into my BB Tour, but it keeps dialing the instructions like a phone number and gives directions such as call forwarding. It also does not allow you check the credit balance on your phone if you dial the operator instructions. Can anyone provide help on this? I am using an MTN line (MTN is an operator).

The dialing instruction to load a credit on your phone is *555*1*PIN Numbers#. Instead loading credit and giving you instructions, it dials the directions as a phone number.

I will appreicate any help on this.

I have the same problem too brother. I use a Zain network in Nigeria and i cant recharge or check my account balance. I also use a blackberry tour. What is the way forward? Pls kindly lets know how to resolve this if there is any solution.
