Apple on Tuesday temporarily revamped its logo in recognition of Earth Day. And, this year, Apple's former environmental critics aren't balking at Apple's gesture as an insignificant effort. These days, Apple is going green in a very aggressive manner.

Behind the green leaf atop the Apple logo and the green attire sported by Apple Store employees today, the company has enjoyed a whirlwind of positive headlines this week for its efforts to cultivate renewable energy use. Apple confirmed this week that 120 of its U.S.-based retail stores are now powered solely by renewable sources of energy.
