hi pupaji, i have had a nokia n72 for a long time. and it had always worked well for me. then a few months back its keypad started sticking, and some keys got double-pressed though i clicked them just once.
so, i took off the white flexi and replaced it with scotch tape after cleaning the key caps with thinner. it was working fine until i sprayed wd40 in it. (keypad l.e.d.s were appearing rusty. n dirty). since then, it hangs at startup where it asks for security code. it starts as normal until i press a key on the keypad. and just as i press a button, the screen's lights start flickering and the phone hangs up. it doesn't go any further and so i can't back-up my contacts or messages.
i took it to my cousin for repair. he first replaced the keypad board (got it for 80 rupees). but still it was the same. hung up just as i pressed a key (when entering the security code). he then changed a small silver chip. its picture is located here

(the chip marked as Z4400)
but still it was the same. then he said he'll have to change another IC. located right above this silver chip. its a larger black IC. but he said changing it does not always result in a successful repair. phone may go completely dead. so i opted to not go any further.
do you have any solution for this problem? i will really appreciate a positive response.
please explain in simple english... i will have to print your post and translate it for him in hindi.
God Bless
